My fiancee and I dedicated a day of walking and browsing in the L.A Jewelry district to find my engagement ring. I knew I was going to be up for a lot of walking, a lot of browsing and a lot of questions to ask & answer.We walked for nearly two hours before we found John at Olympics Jewelry.It was the last shop before we called it a day and it should of been our ONLY shop for the day. Finding a ring at the window that looked exactly what I’ve picture my ring to be. My fiancee and I did not have too much knowledge about diamonds and John was very kind, patient and very knowledgable. He taught us the ’101 of diamonds,’ and answered all of our questions.With his help and the idea of how I would like my ring to be, It took us just 3 visits to finally get my ring. (In a span of 3 weeks because of Thanksgiving holiday)The ring was custom made, so we had to:1) Design the ring2) Approved the mold of the ring 3) Final product of the ring MINUS the center stone mounted.At the third stage, we were there to witness the center stone being mounted, making sure that the stone is indeed the one we’ve picked.We walked thru the entire process of mounting freshwater Pearl Necklaces, polishing and coating. The engagement became very real when the ring sat on my finger.This is the place to go. John & crew are absolutely delightful.I will be going back for my wedding bands.
When I came to Olympics, I had already gone through the experience of designing a ring and having it come out not as I expected, so I didn’t want that to happen again. I was very, very specific and very, very cautious (and probably very, very annoying) but it such an important decision that I didn’t want to leave anything to chance. John was very patient and polite and helped me to design the perfect ring. He called me in a few times to explain important steps of the process or show me examples of stones, which was great. John also gives you computer images before the ring is made so you can get an idea of how it will look. He even worked with me to get the ring finished ahead of schedule, which I was so happy about. The best part of the experience was seeing the ring being made. I would definitely recommend doing that, I’ll remember it forever. I recommend Olympics Jewelry. They did a great job. The only advice I would give you is to ask questions and be very specific–bring in pictures, examples, etc. It definitely helps so there are no surprises, and John really understands that.
My husband found John when looking for the engagement ring through a referral. ?He let my husband design exactly what he wanted – something different! I did not want the typical bling-ed out diamond. ?The end result is stunning! ?So for our wedding rings there was really no other option; we had to go back to John! This time he let me design what I wanted – a confetti sprinkle of smaller diamonds around a white gold band. ?Then we had the idea to leave the band thick enough to put birthstones of our children underneath. ?We started with the one who was in utero at the time – a sapphire! ?John ended up giving us that stone for free, as a wedding gift! ?What an amazing guy. ?Highly recommend this family run operation.
